Peacock Series

The Peacock series is inspired by a drawing from one of my year two art students. It was a black-line drawing on a small piece of white paper, but it had such clear lines and shapes and a bursting of happy energy that I just had to paint it. While I can never imagine to make my paintings as beautiful as Makayla’s drawing, I just wanted her to know how special it is to me. To start the artworks I prepare the surfaces using either collage or acrylic paint, or a combination of both. I transfer my design to the surface and block out the background to reveal the shapes and colours. Details are added using Indian Ink.
